Description
Bruges is often described as the “Venice of the North” for its beautiful canals and medieval splendor. There are some wonderful natural spots to discover perfect for romantic strolls as well as centuries old architecture dating back to the Middle Ages. Most of Bruges' medieval architecture is still intact and you'll feel like you’ve stepped back in time as you explore areas such as the beautiful courtyard of Grutthuse Palace. The courtyard in the shadow of the Church of Our Lady which dates mainly from 13th 14th and 15th centuries and features the tallest structure in the city. See the city from the top of the belfry and you will see the church standing high above the rest of Bruges. There are plenty of museums to visit including the Groeningemuseum which houses six centuries of Flemish and Belgian paintings including great works by Jan Van Eyck and Rene Magritte. This Day Trip for Two experience includes return luxury coach travel and a return ferry across the channel. There will be plenty of time to explore the fairytale city. In the evening after a wonderful adventure you will board the ferry again and head back to England.
Your day will start bright and early with the coach making its pick ups from 06.00. The coach will then take you to Dover where you will board a ferry to Calais France. Once in France you will commence the journey to Bruges where you can expect to arrive at approximately 13.30. Explore the beautiful city taste the Belgium cuisine and take in the sights. You’ll board the coach again at 16.15 to depart Bruges and make the return journey to London. Arrive back in London at approximately 22.00.
