Description
The Isle of Wight has been a popular holiday destination since the Victorian times and now you can enjoy a tour of the island. Being off the southern coast of England means it is prone to slightly higher temperatures then the rest of the UK. Queen Victoria made her holiday home Osborne House in East Cowes her final place of residence before her death in 1901. She quoted on her first visit ‘it is impossible to imagine a prettier spot.’ See the glory of this and many other sights on your trip such as the famous chalk Needles rising out of the sea plus tour wonderful seaside villages. Entrance to Osborne House is included as part of your One Night Isle of Wight Getaway for Two. You will stay in a comfortable twin or double room in a hotel in Sandown and in the morning you will both enjoy breakfast before heading out to further explore the island before returning to the mainland by ferry and your return coach journey to London.
You will need to arrive at your chosen pick up point at least 10 minutes in advance to ensure you do not miss your coach. You will travel to Southampton where you board the ferry and cross the Solent to the Isle of Wight. Arrive at East Cowes where you can visit Osborne House. After you have explored what was once Queen Victoria’s home you will move on to Sandown where you can check into your hotel. Enjoy free time for the rest of the day and explore the popular seaside town. The following day you will receive breakfast before checking out and meeting your tour guide for a second day of sightseeing. Travel to Shanklin and Ventor before returning to East Cowes to board the ferry home in the evening. You'll arrive back in London at approximately 21.00.
